Cela s’explique par la nature territoriale du chien. Avez-vous déjà remarqué que votre chien tourne en rond pendant environ une minute sur son couchage avant de décider de se coucher ? Les chiens font cela pour y déposer leur odeur et envoyer un message clair aux autres chiens : ‘Ce lit est à moi !” Lorsqu’un nouveau couchage est introduit, votre chien peut se montrer méfiant et espérer que son ancien lit, ou son ‘territoire’, reviendra bientôt. Il peut également se réfugier dans des endroits qui portent fortement l’odeur de sa ‘meute’, comme la pièce où vous dormez.
Même si vous ne pouvez pas faire en sorte que le nouveau couchage ressemble exactement à l’ancien, vous pouvez lui donner une odeur familière. Une solution courante consiste à placer sur le lit de vieux vêtements que vous avez portés, afin d’encourager votre chien à l’associer à vous et à la sécurité. Des couvertures et des jouets imprégnés de l’odeur de votre chien peuvent aussi le convaincre que ce couchage n’est pas si étranger après tout.
Une autre idée astucieuse consiste à placer un drap sur l’ancien couchage. Laissez votre chien y dormir comme d’habitude, afin que l’odeur du lit et celle de votre chien imprègnent les fibres. Au bout d’un moment, sortez le nouveau couchage et rangez l’ancien. Placez le même drap sur le nouveau lit, afin de le dissimuler à votre chiot, tant par son odeur que par son apparence. Repliez progressivement le drap jusqu’à ce qu’il ne couvre plus qu’une petite partie du nouveau couchage – puis retirez-le complètement. Et voilà ! Votre chien dormira profondément sur son nouveau matelas en un rien de temps.

I have tried all of the ideas listed here, and my stubborn beagle is still protesting not to sleep on the bed. He will walk on it and get off. He has his blanket on top which I didn't change. I've stepped on the bed with my feet and left some kibble and still 4 nights later we haven't made progress. Help please......
I read somewhere that you throw a treat onto the dog bed and when your dog gets the treat you say a command word (bed, place, spot, etc.). Then wait until the dog walks away and do it again 7-10 times in a row repeating the command word.
You can also try telling your dog to lay down in the bed and giving them a treat when they do and praise them.
Another thing to try is limiting any other options other than their bed by putting up barriers to force them to use the next best thing which is their bed. You can also try putting the bed near the TV so the dog can see you when you’re watching tv or wherever you’re hanging out because if the bed is in a separate room they feel separated from the “pack”.

My suggestion to you would first be to put a couple of your shirts on his bed that you've already worn and if that doesn't work try sitting in the bed with him in your lap maybe it'll calm him down enough and make him like it good luck

He never liked beds. We bought a top of the line - still doesn't want it. We bought it because of age etc. He just won't take it. He scratches and scratches the carpet.
We bought our dog a new bed she will not go near it. I even put her old worn out bed on top so she would recognize her smell
